I have made a few DSD test recordings, but I can't claim any more experience than that. But just going on general PCM practice, I would expect that either running the file in real time through a Sample Rate Converter hardware box, or having a computer do it as a file conversion, the telltale high ultrasonics would get filtered out by the PCM input filter.
