I've got to order some of these myself. I've previously obtained some of this material on Rediscovery (also from RtR transfers) and MCA CD's - it will be interesting to see how the HDTT discs compare. I've found both the Rediscovery and the MCA re-issues to be quite, uh. . . variable.

BTW, I loved the review of the Vandernoot Symphonie fantastique (in one of your links) where the reviewer quoted Schumann's remark about Berlioz: "melodies so intense, they cannot be harmonized in the normal way!" Right on!

One last note: the Dorati New World Symphony derives from a Phase-4 recording, and would thus NOT be minimally microphoned?
