No arrogance involved at all.

Dear Mr. Bloody Minded:

My comment was sincere and arrogance-free.

Please identify yourself and provide us with your background in string playing, arts management, and the record business. The we might have some idea of whether you have earned the right to have opinions on such matters.

My comment was based on my knowledge of how expensive it is to produce professional-quality recordings (the clips I heard sounded fine to me as far as engineering goes), my knowledge of how expensive it is to set up and buy bandwith for a site such as hers, and how terribly difficult it is for worthwhile artists to get not only "noticed," by engagements that pay something more than airfare.

Ever heard of Michaela Martin? A truly artistic player. Her career went nowhere. I could name a dozen very worthy players who are simply not on the radar screen--Dylana Jensen, for another. Lydia Mordkovich.

That's all I meant by my comment. Ms. Little has put a pile of work and money into a website that is giving away good recordings. I hope it does her some career good.

In exactly the same way I hope that tenor Brian Cheney's "mic test" I wrote about in Stereophile does him some good in raising his profile and improves the quality of his bookings.

What is your problem, anyway?

JM
