"Fascincao" is the one that got me. Interestingly some of the tunes on that compilation are edited/ truncated.That why I felt it worth it to hunt down the vinyl. Brazilian comps can be slapdash- But boy is that a fine starting place.
Did you try "Dois Pra La, Dois Pra Ca" with your wife? The sweatiest of make- out tunes, coupled with the excellent cast of musicians that she insisted upon 100% of the time, and her VOICE, which can change character five different ways, sometimes in one song, and still make sense out of a melody, and groove you into bad health.
No offense to Piaf, but when they call Elis the "Brazilian Edith Piaf" I start to feel ill. Really sends the wrong message...
