your post above tempts me to try Buckley, it was nicely descriptive.
I have been an Elis Regina fan for a LONG time as well. She is special. I was shocked, to say the least, when I first heard her: even by the high standards Brazilian singers and American Jazz singers have set for intensity and communication and sheer beauty, she stands way out.
Thanks Again,

PS
There are 3 live recordings called Dois Na Bossa she recorded with Jair Rodriguez. Pts. 1, 2 and 3.Poor to variable sound, electrifying Regina, and they had CHEMISTRY. Great band. Some songs that might be seldom- heard for non- Brazilian listeners (they were for me). Parts of these dates exist on CD but as far as I know they are unavailable in their entirety except for LP (correct me if I am wrong, also advise as to sound quality if they exist on CD).
These are must haves if you are a fan; you really feel like you are there...
Also a few fascinating and hair- raising clips of her on you tube (she seems on the brink at times, but the music strangely never turns ugly).
Thanks Again!
