It is PAINFUL, as now even much of Brooklyn is now becoming too pricy. Most of the consistant outposts for more experimental music, other than the Vision offshoots, Stone and Roulette, are now there ... but for how long?Without subsidies, it is becoming more and more difficult as the affordability curve is still rapidly outpacing normal income/living standards here.
First it was the Disney-fication of Times Square and now it seems that steadily, more and more of Manhattan is becoming a steril and vapid playground for the wealthy.
Yet, interestingly, it still beats everywhere else in the US that I have ever lived.
