The new Paper Moon and Camera Obscura

Good news. I've been waiting for these for a long time, ever since being disappointed with Belle & Sebastian - The Life Pursuit. I'm just a man in search of good melodies, as I can't make out the words to the lyrics usually.
Paper Moon - Only During Thunderstorms
This was disappointing upon the first several listens. But then it got better, and better. And then I remembered, that all Paper Moon's albums were always disappointing at first, but somehow the melodies become apparent after a while. Worthy addition to their catalog, a few new tricks here and there but in line with the rest of their work.

Camera Obscura - My Maudlin Career
Their older albums had some of the best melodies, and I was apprehensive to find out the direction of this admitted "quite dark" sound. But from the very first notes, I knew it was everything I hoped it would be. Sometimes, you can just tell right away by the quality of the notes. This was more carefully crafted than Let's Get Out Of This Country, and is the culmination and fulfillment of BBHF, UAPTH, and ILMJ. The one we've been waiting for. It sounds like this will be the musical peak of their career.
