See my post Bruckner-The Actual Person and my post Composers and Blood Suckers.Bruckner was no idiot savant, tho you may well be. The 'documentary' you saw was no documentary at all but yet another silly drama by Ken Russell, a British film director known for his moronic misrepresentations of composer's lives. Russell has savaged the biographies of Mahler, Tchaikovsky, Liszt, Wagner, and now Bruckner. Anything for a little sensationalism. Given what he's done to them, I can only drool thinking what he might do with subject matter like say - YOU!
I suggest that you check your facts before you pass judgement over another man's life, career, & reputation. Bruckner was no suburban bourgeoise weekend barbeque stock broker, swilling bear and swapping cellulite, bleach blonde wives and secretaries, but an artist of genius who's contributions have survived over a century, are likely to survive another, and, I dare say, will survive the petty excoriation of equally petty minds on the internet.
