I see the Anthem MCA20 is 225wpc ... this is the spec into the default "8 ohm load". Maggies are 4ohm loads - the Anthem spec says it will deliver 300w into 4ohms (both channels driven) - ie. only 50% more. Maggies like amps which can deliver a lot of current, as well as power - this means an amp which can 'double down' into 4ohms ... or at least deliver 90% of this (so 400w).
As a new Maggie owner, you probably won't believe this ... but I suggest you audition something like a Sanders Magtech (500w into 8ohms & 900w into 4ohms), to see how they make the 3.7s "come alive"! :-))
