Drip coffee makers are mandated by the Consumer Safety guys to heat and stay at 150 degrees. That's the optimum temperature for hide glue. Buy the cheapest one you can find.
Winter is the perfect season for hide glue in terms of it's greater strength the quicker it cools and the Aaaah effect on arthritic hands
Archimedes may have been inspired by using hide glue because if he was "given a veneer hammer large enough and a roll of veneer long enough", he could cover the Earth without clamps.
