RE: Vinyl Ripping Software for PC & Mac

The best software for ripping LP's is probably Pure Vinyl by Channel D but it's for Mac only and it's a bit pricey. Click HERE for the review.

There's an inmate here who uses Vinyl Studio which is supposed to be pretty good and not very difficult. It's available for Mac and Windows. I'm not sure that it eliminates ALL the agony of ripping vinyl but I believe it has some 'automation' built-in.

I just used the free Audacity software which runs on Mac & Windows but it's very 'manual' in nature. I rip the entire side one then side two of my album in two separate very large files. I then used Audacity's editing feature to 'separate' the individual tracks and input the metadata.

There's a link below that describes how to use Audacity to rip vinyl. I'm not sure how current it is so it may differ slightly from the latest version of Audacity.
