Here are my thoughts on what was, overall, a really great series. I DVR recorded and have watched all 8 episodes. Excellent history of recorded music and it's popularity. The only episode that I didn't care for (and it's just personal preference), was episode 6, which addressed Rap, Hip-hop, sampling, and scratching, none of which (with the exception of some sampling), I have any interest in, or use for. But, again, that's just my opinion. But they did do a good job of covering those subjects. -My only real complaint, considering all the coverage of the music of the 80's, and MTV in particular, was the complete lack of even a mention of Jan Hammer's weekly, one man band scoring for the Miami Vice TV episodes, and how incredibly influential that was. Not to mention that the NBC network shelled out a lot of royalty fees to include original artist hit recordings (the most oft referenced being Phil Collins "In the Air Tonight") in every episode. --That had never been done before. The lack of even a mention of Jan Hammer, Miami Vice, and it's connection to popular music in the 80's was inexplicable and unconscionable, IMO. --Anyway, if you don't find every episode equally interesting, just hang in there, because the last show is an excellent finale.
