Some small companies favor one form over another...
If you send an email... it may never get an answer.
Usually the best is a phone call.
Most companies with a web site have a contact list, including email and phone number.

Also, some companies really only respond to their own dealers.
So a dealer calls, they get the carrot. A customer calls, they get the run around. Particularly companies who have big problem with grey market.
They may not be willing to even respond to a customer who does not have an authorized dealer.
