RE: Best Buy - Setting The Bar Low.....

Scott;

You bring up a good point that I have posted about in the past.

50+ year old designers/audiophiles/retailers keep lamenting the demise of this hobby, but are doing very little in the way of changing it by making it more affordable for the young-uns.

BRICKS & MORTAR high end shops, here's a NEWS FLASH...DO NOT MAKE IT HARD FOR A YOUNG/NEW AUDIOPHILE TO BUY YOUR STUFF! Most young people do have jobs, but not many have 5k burning a hole in their pocket to spend on a amp, source, speakers, and cables.

I bet if more B&M stores offered 2 years same as cash, or some other creative financing plan more of them would still be in business instead of copier repair, or whatever it is that used to be's do.

I'm sure your already aware of this, but if not, your Best Buy card works like a champ at Magnolia. Magnolia sells McIntosh, Martin Logan, B & W, and a host of other top tier brands.

I know and work with at least 300 people in their 20s and early 30s and they ALL have a $700 smart phone that they are paying $20 to $40 per month for.

If B & M stores are unwilling to get creative with respect to financing their gear, then who gives a shit if they go the way of the buggy whip.

I'm glad you are happy with your 682s.......
