Windows 10 has amazing power in its default installed scheme. There is a ton of crap that needs to be turned off. The only way to avoid automatic updates now is to identify your Wi-Fi connection as metered. If you hard wire through an Ethernet cable too bad, Microsoft has control and settings will change with auto updates. One of the defaults allows apps to send emails from your email account!
