B&O - Where has the quality gone.

I bought a pair of the Beoplay S3 for Christmas last year. They retailed at $800 a pair and I thought I was going to get what I paid for them on a buy one get one offer at a local retailer. I took them home and hooked them up to preamp via a wired connection to each channel (they have built in amplifier) and the sound was very good. I immediately took them upstairs to hook them up in my bedroom where they were going to stay. I usually have soft music playing at all times. I have bluetooth on my phone and I thought it was going to be easy to have both of them running stereo at the same time. They would not pair to each other at all as they were designed. I fought with them for about an hour before giving up. I then hooked a single one up with a mini jack to a squeezelite source that runs all the time and they would simply turn themselves off after a day or so. I recently revisited them now that I have more free time. I contacted support via their website and they wanted to know about my wireless router. I called them on the number on the email and a automated person said that no one was available and hung up on me. I then called back about 15 minutes later and he basically informed me that the way they are marketed is not the way they work. You need to pair them with the app every time that you want to listen to them as a stereo set. They also do not work with tv's as there is too long of a delay in the audio with bluetooth. The person also suggested running a wire to each of the wireless speakers as a work around for the TV audio problem. I guess in the modern world this is what we have to put up with when dealing with well established higher end brands?
