Do cables REALLY make a significant difference, answered ;-)

Usually, cheap interconnects have a TIZZY high-end. It is hard to avoid, it appears. My reference el cheapo interconnects currently are the C2G velocity series. I thought I would bypass the cables wars with these, but alas, they, too, were tizzy in the high-end. However, for $25 for 50-feet, I forgave them!!

I thought a 6 inch set would have the length advantage, but still NO. But, I would recommend them as a starter cable certainly.

My Panasonic Blu ray player came with a nice interconnect pair that I still use for the Blu ray output, especially, when playing music CDs or music DVD's. Haven't compared them to anything else though as they are stuck behind the audio-visual gear. I didn't think they would blow away an audiophile cable, so I didn't even try a comparison, but I think they would be superior to the C2G.

My recommendation is always to go with an economical cable that meets one's criterion for QUALITY. However, when the sound quality upgrade itch strikes, that's one of the places I always suggest to look FIRST, unless one has a mid-fi receiver, then don't sweat it.

Monster cables are NOT my favorite, but they seem to be popular for the mid-fi circuit. The C2G would be cheaper, but I haven't done a comparison.

Speaker wire I find even more interesting, although I find that there are MORE variables than either just Good or Bad, as they may be speaker and amplifier dependent, and I'm just guessing.
