My first system was ca. 1988:
Carver CT-1 preamp (still have it, works great, use it for digitizing LPs)
Carver m1.0t (still use it for my front speakers)
AR-XA turntable (don't recall the cartridge)
Carver Amazing Loudspeakers (sold 'em)
