Ginger Baker has one of the most individual and identifiable styles of drumming. And, yes, there is in part someone he copied. Or rather a drumming culture which he copied. He went to Africa and learned from the indigenous drumming styles there. Once you know it is easily heard iin his playing (assuming that you have also heard African drumming).
It is mixed with a more classic style of jazz drumming which he learned from the great British jazz drummer Phil Seamen.
