I dont want to steer this discussion in this direction, we all have our likes and dislikes.
As I mentioned I have run into this effect multiple times in both large arenas and in 1000-3000 seat auditoriums designed for music with both mellow and quiet acts and high energy rock shows.
In my mind the benefit of a live performance is supposed to be a closer connection to the artist and his music that he plays in that instant.
I find it missing despite hearing every note and every word of a performer I like.
It is like early CD days, I can hear it clear but it doesn't grab me and I can't put my finger on it.
