If I'm not mistaken, these used a special...

solid cone-shaped foam woofer (and mid in the three-ways). IF needing replacement, finding real-deal drivers might be problematic, not certain about that, though. "The Sensible Sound" reviewed some Phase Tech speakers (a higher-up model, I believe) mid-'90's and liked them.
