I went through my closet and found a couple of fat envelopes full of Tower receipts for thousands of discs. I used to keep them thinking they'd help if my apartment were ever robbed. Long lists of Blue Notes... remember the label sales? I really miss going down the rows and browsing the new releases and new re-issues which they'd put up on top. No longer possible to browse new re-releases... not on amazon anyway. I would spend hours in those places! (though some of the guys in the 4th street jazz department were a little snobby). Made me feel like I had something to do.
