RE: Anybody see the Showtime documentary about Tower Records?

When CDs first came out in the 1980's, I was living in Anchorage, Alaska, where the local merchants charged premium prices for them, having a captive market and all. From time to time, I flew to Portland for business. When I did, the first thing I did was to take a cab from the airport directly to the Tower store on the eastside of Portland, buy a stack of disks, and then take a cab to my hotel. As you'll remember, the quality of CDs in those days wasn't too good. So I have a lot of poor sounding disks, but at least they were cheap!
