I have been using basic wire shelving for years. Any resonance introduced by various wood shelving choices and large panel surfaces is completely avoided. I have taken care to eliminate any possibility of ringing by using dense foam blocks under the equipment. Black Diamond Racing cones are screwed into the bottom of each corner post. The rack rests on porcelain tile over a concrete floor.
Some additional benefits in using wire shelving are cost, shelf height adjustment and no dust accumulation. This may not be what you had in mind but perhaps it will help you think in a different direction. Anyway, I hope this helps.
