The better the speakers cables and Amp, the better your source must be.
I picked up some used Wilson 8's a few weeks ago along with Cardas Neutral Ref speaker cable. I mostly listen to records from my supped up VPI supper scout master with dynavector XX cart through Pass electronics.
and its sublime. But from time to time I like listening to cable music, and this weekend Paladia had the Grateful dead movie. While listening I noticed it didn't sound as good as when I had the Revels or other speakers hooked up. wasn't bad, but I will just stick with my vinyl for serious listening. I used to enjoy Paladia, Daryl's House has some good stuff too...its too bad.
Just to clarify my point - I used think my digital cable box was ok, now; not so much...
