I haven't tried to sell anything this year, but I always keep an eye on Audiogon. Like Bodhi said, there are too many dealers using the site now and they are pricing their used and demo equipment higher than what the Agon market would traditionally bear. That seems to have led to individual sellers inflating their prices as well, and I think that is the main reason for slow sales. We're also getting into holiday shopping season, which is traditionally the slowest time of year on Agon.
But it all depends on what you have for sale and how you price it. It used to be that if you had something to sell, in reasonably good condition, from well-respected brand, it would move at 50% of retail. If you had a hot new flavor of the month product, or a desirable older item in super-mint condition, then you could get 60% or more. But now there are way too many individual sellers trying to get 65% or even 75% of retail, and the only time you see reasonable prices are when there's a lot of competition among sellers.
Which brings me to my last point. There are certain brands of gear, such as Pass, and Mac, which get turned over A LOT on Agon. Consequently, prices are lower for this gear since it's a buyer's market.
