As Abe mentioned, ads can cause that and being a contributor gets rid of them, so that would solve it. However, from time to time, posting a message can be delayed. That's not typical unless there is a major page roll over update which can take longer and is something that we could do differently to avoid real time updates to older pages.

Then you have network issues that can be your end, our end and anywhere in between. I notice slow response times or no response on my cable connection now and then. My first thought is that it's our site, but doing a quick Google search shows that it's just the net or my cable company. Less commonly, the servers just get over loaded with a gazillion requests and may need a kick start to get them back on track or will just get back to normal as the traffic spike eases.

But if you're seeing a consistent slow response on one specific task, let me know the url and I'll look into getting it fixed.
