Well, the Titans at $219 list are DEFINITELY in the MiFi category.So, I'm sort of arguing that, maybe, the integrated amplifier is where the bucks ought to be spent on a sort of 'budget' system.
I had other loudspeakers in their, too, at the same price and a bit more expensive. The Titans give a good mid-fi experience in my brief estimation of only a few days of listening now.
[Edit: They're a bit honky I am noticing. Yes, enough to make one want to upgrade. BUT, they certainly point one in the right direction, that if the music doesn't get your attention, something else is wrong.]
My CD source is not all that expensive either.
