Disagree.... If the original mastering happens to be digital.....
Some of the best sounding LPs I've heard were Telarc using the Soundstream digital recording system. It was a 50 kHz sampled system, and in retrospect, may have fueled those "high expectations" in later digital audio technology ("Perfect Sound Forever") that was so rarely realized.
I think one of the reasons why digitally mastered vinyl sounded so good is that the RFI from the active digital playback is left behind at the studio and mastering lab. There is no RFI emissions from vinyl playback, regardless of how it was mastered.
