I've only been listening to XM channel 76 "Symphony Hall" in my car. The overall volume does seem louder. Worse, audio quality is more strident, with a solo violin sounding unpleasantly wiry. Purely subjective observations though -- can't tell how much has changed in XM's processing vs. my hearing.
