When you view an ad and then click "contact seller" you don't have to be a member or logged in etc. This increases the number of people you might sell to.
As to your debit card I recommend you get rid of it. If it is compromised you then must call the bank to get your money back. Compare to a credit card where for me the last time there was a problem the bank noticed it after three charges out of state for $200. They called me to verify the charges which I said were fraud. They sent a new card and I had no issues.
Credit cards can earn miles or even cash back. We get about 300 dollars a year cash back. Debit cards nothing. Also remember on a credit card you charge in one month and don't have to pay for 45 days. Your good credit is working for you and continuing to raise your credit score if you pay it off monthly and on time. Debit cards have no effect on your credit score.
Get rid of it
