I suspect both you and Poinzy are right

Yep. I kinda know this but wanted verification. Actually I wanted someone to tell me of their experience which didn't raise the high frequencies and instead increased the amount of bass response.
As it is now, with the carpet, I've struggled to get enough bass. Big room, cathedral ceiling. Ahh well, carpet is warmer anyway. But I would really like to do hardwood. I just don't want to have to re-voice the system if at all possible.
Maybe another sub woofer

BTW, just coming back over here has cost me $$$. I keep thinking about my tonearm being the one weak link. You guys understand though don't you. (-:
