I no longer play or listen directly from my new CDs. I first 'rip' them to my music server Library and play them from the
computer + DAC.
Mac Mini > Audirvana Plus Player > Ayre QB-9 DSD DAC > Ayre AX-7e Integrated - [ iPad Remote Control ]
Many of those albums eventually make their way to the iPod or iPhone for playback in the car audio system. My wife's SUV
has an iPod Classic that's loaded up with thousands of uncompressed music files. I use my iPhone or my iPod Touch in my car.
Music stored on the iPhone playing through my car infotainment system
Streaming music in the car from my Amazon music library "in the cloud"
Streaming music in the car from my Pandora account
iPhone secured under the armrest. Audio sent to car infotainment system digitally through the Apple Lighting connector.
This bypasses the iPhone's analog output stage AND the iPhone's DAC. The car audio system DAC is used instead.
