Anyone else listen to new cd's in car or boombox before main system?

It just dawned on me that I rarely go to my main system when listening to a new cd purchase.

It started as being circumstantial rather than intentional.

I usually buy a couple cd's a week and they begin their rotation either in my car while I drive, or in my boombox as background music while reading.

After I get familiar with the music I get down to some critical listening on my main system. (I don't set any parameters like listening 10 times before I change systems. It just happens.)

Listening on the main system I become quite immersed and dazzled with the detail and soundstage experience.

I guess it's akin to listening to music on the radio in the old days and running out to buy and play the album on your hi fi.

Funny thing now is that it almost seems wrong not to go through this procedure. I'm sure it's just habitual. Or might there be more to it? Anyone else do anything similar?

Cheers!
