It sounds like your provider is totally unhelpful.
Being able to easily hear the audible beeps when inputting information is very important as is being able to hear "countdown" beeps or 'warning' beeps.
You have the wrong type of RAS, and possibly system, if you can't hear it properly.
A competent security adviser will be able to answer your query.
