I don't find audio gear expensive , i don't have to buy and surely not you or anyone else who cant or won't, plus it's not necessary if u want good hi-fi, this is one big reason why DIY and kits are coming back, many ways to spin a good system together without a 100K + amplifier or electronics, big leap in cash for that last 5%.
No one needs a Ferrari to enjoy motoring and like auto's hi-fi systems can be hot-rodded, of course if you want to have a big bwoy SOTA system and or a Ferrari you will have to spend the entry fee.... :)
