I called the bubble on ultra-high-end as an unsustainable proposition: more than 50 loudspeakers on offer at more than $90,000/pr.
But of course, as that AWSI recounts, I STARTED my alleged career at Stereophile 15 years ago, saying exactly the same thing, except the numbers were smaller.
Dozens of custom car-body builders and coach-trimmers met their end in the Depression, WWII, or the post-War austerity in Europe.
It was only exports to the US that kept the UK car business alive.
Same for the US audio business today--it would be a crater full of swampwater, but for Asia.
