When Muddy Waters passed away, I went on a blues concert binge to see a lot of delta blues musicians while I still had the chance.
One of the concerts I went to was BB King (ok, maybe not pre-war delta blues, but close enough). One of the best concerts I've ever been to. It was a cultural experience too. I was a white kid from the suburbs who went to the concert in torn up jeans, and everyone else at the Chicago south-side Regal theater was black and dressed really nice for a night out on the town. I felt foolishly under-dressed, but the music was unforgettable.
