First let me thank you for being so responsive as a Bored. In that respect AA has always been the best.
I responded to the thread, not because I would be much of a customer for reissues. I have been into vinyl for many years and post most often in the vinyl asylum. I have had enough disappointments with reissues over the years (mostly with remastering or re-equalizing) that I generally stay away preferring to harvest from my own collection, or occasionally carefully finding something used. I have a list of reissues I might get, but each of them has been reviewed by Fremer, or someone else trustworthy, and has superlative reviews for the sound. As an old timer with about 2000 records on hand, and considering what I paid on the average for these, it's hard for me to lay out $35 for a disk.
But there are newer collectors for whom reissues seem a reasonable way to go, and as with hardware, what you have put forward seems a good way to go. The collective wisdom of inmates would provide a far larger discography than can be provided by the Fremers of the world.
I think you've covered all the bases. The question remaining, in my mind, would be the nature of the list. By label? By current manufacturer? For classical, by composer? For Popular-Jazz-Rock, by artist? My suggestion would be the latter: Composer/Artist
A condition of the review, as it should be for hardware, should be a listing of the reviewer's system, or a click to it. And it should be clear that it's a vinyl audio review for current reissues. Music Lane should remain the principal place for discussions of artistry.
Again, thanks for your interest.
Mel
