You raise an interesting broader issue of the reliability of user reviews on websites such as this, including reviews of equipment. Perhaps someone "in the know" can chime in. I would suspect that some editing and/or deletion of reviews is routine, albeit that would be misleading. At the other end of the scale you have troublesome issues that Amazon is dealing with (people paid to trump up a product). If I owned a company I would also insist that all user reviews be submitted by confirmed purchasers from my company.
