Digital music is still in flux, so let's hope that this isn't the beginning because it doesn't bode well for us. MOG is gone and none of the other streamers have very good jazz holdings. Tidal seems like it is going to move away from a streaming model. So one likely scenario is that we're going to continue to collect our own content and play it back ourselves. Or else we'll be held hostage to the Telecom companies. The three worst telecoms are Comcast, Verizon and Time Warner. I am currently paying $70 per month for BASIC cable from Verizon and I don't have enough bandwidth to stream anything (Qobuz or Amazon Music). I get constant dropouts, stuttering and silence. So, $99/year for Amazon Prime, $150/year for Qobuz, and $910/year for Verizon and I still can't get a decent stream. This looks more bleak to me than the end of FM broadcasts...
