Twenty years ago I was driving my wife, 18 month old son and 4 year old daughter to a friend's house warming party when I heard screeching tires of an out of control car from two lanes over on the passenger side. The car slammed into us forcing our car to hit the concrete divider at about a 45 degree angle. I complete control of our car as it spun out of control and ended up crossing several lanes of the highway before coming to a stop facing traffic. It totaled the car and sent all of us to the hospital. Luckily, there were no serious injuries, although I spent months in rehab. I had trouble sleeping for weeks after and the entire experience, including the sounds, are still quite vivid in my aging memory.
