I received this Kickstarter update this morning. I hope Jerome doesn't mind me posting it here, if so, I'll delete it.

RIP Doug Sax
Posted by Jerome Sabbagh
I was sad to learn that Doug Sax passed away yesterday. He was one of the greats of mastering, quite possibly the best mastering engineer ever. I have many fantastic sounding records he worked on. It was a dream come true for me to work with him, and an honor, indeed.
I likely wouldn't have attempted to put "The Turn" on vinyl if not for him. When we were working on the digital versions, he was the one who brought up vinyl. I didn't think I could make it happen financially and he actually reached out to some people in the industry on my behalf. When that didn't work, because I was so happy with his work on the digital versions and thrilled at the possibility of him cutting the vinyl, I had the idea of starting a Kickstarter campaign.
When I got the funding together, thanks to all of you, Doug had already been sick and undergone a first round of treatment. For a little while, it wasn't clear when he was going to be able to work again. The studio manager at The Mastering Lab told me he made cutting that lacquer the first thing on his list of projects he wanted to work on.
I was deeply touched that he made it a priority to see this project through and cut the record. I am grateful I got a chance to work with him, if only once.
As a musician and a lover of good sound, Doug Sax's work will always be a benchmark for sound quality and integrity, for me and so many others.
RIP Doug Sax and thank you!
