My listening position is actually fairly close - about 9', which is as close as the room will allow. I'm running the VACs in triode mode which gives me 35 WPCH, and it's more than enough with the Force subs filling in the low end.

I fear that I may have mislead you, though. The system really does sound quite good. It only lacks that ineffable quality that allowed me to forget for brief moments that I was listening to a stereo system at all. The Martin Logans were quite good at that, although I'd never buy another ML product for other reasons.

I've moved on, and it's okay. Other things are taking precedence now, which is probably a good thing in my case.
