what you will but I miss those days of carefully selecting songs adding up the time to make sure I could get the most songs on each tape and then put them in the right order for each occasion. I can't tell you the model of my first amp, speakers, or first two CD players I purchased but I remember my first tape deck - the Pioneer CTS-709 and man did I use that thing a LOT. It sounded surprisingly good too. Years later I was told it was actually the same as their Elite model but without the finish. Either way they did a good job with it.
I wish I had kept it now - but with the new tape capacity - that mix tape list might require a small forest to list the tracks.
Still I miss the 709 and the glow of the meters.
