If you are having only a glass (or two) you would be well advised to buy box wine, as once a bottle of wine is opened it starts to deteriorate. You can slow that down -- but not prevent it -- by refrigeration, but who wants to drink cold red wine?
The box contains a plastic bag which keeps air away from the remaining wine, so the wine in the box will last several days, and even though it may be of a little lower quality than some of the bottles recommended here, by the third day usually it will be a more enjoyable drink.
There used to be a Cajun chef on Public TV who asserted that the best wine to have is one you enjoy. I agree, and you will have to find out for yourself. It's an individual thing -- and it's fun trying!
