? & the Mysterians unexpectedly turned up in New York City in the mid '90s. For a year or so you could go see them in clubs around the city, as if they were just another struggling New York group and not a semi - legendary band that hadn't been seen for almost 3 decades. The amazing thing was that the band completely killed in concert, and the ageless ? had more energy and charisma than lead singers half his age. It was rather amusing that for a while in the 1990s the best live band in New York was a bunch of middle aged guys from Michigan.
