It sounds to me that you want to switch amp A to amp B and back and forth with the briefest of intervals to note the differences.If you knew the history of this hobby over the past 40 years then you should know that what this test will imply is that all well designed amplifiers working within their limits will sound the same ( viz. Hafler, Walker at Quad etc.).
I, and most inmates, will say that they don't. To identify the difference requires a comparison over time when attributes such as listening fatigue etc. can be appreciated.
I advise reading John Atkinson of Stereophile on his experience in taking part in the Quad A/B/X tests, selling his amp because of the test result then finding out at his leisure that he had made a big mistake.
