But that doesn't mean that audiophilia is dead. New Audiophilia has emerged, as I see it, centred on the head-fi movment and related digital activities. There's still lots of life in the DIY tube scene - and we can thank stalwarts like Bottlehead for helping to keep that flame alive. And, moreover, the vintage scene is a lively as ever.
I would dare to suggest that, for audio and audiophilia to survive and thrive, we would do well to support producers and designers to continue to work and innovate in that fertile 'middle-ground' and provide the value and breakthrough we desire. And yes, this means positively supporting China and all Asian *fellow audiophiles* to continue to create - and not continuously disparage them.
