It could be something as simple (or, as complex?) as mood changes on the part of the individual - in this case YOU.

It could have something to do with power conditioning, or the lack of it. It could be that your AC experiences fluctuations of various sorts from time to time, which in turn make your system sound slightly different, from time to time.

It could be many things. Or, it could be your imagination. Most of us don't have the time and/or the resources to figure everything little thing out.
